How I cloned my Hard drive.

After KICKING the side of my computer to get the hard drive to start up (It was only a 1 yr old Maxtor)!!, I knew it was time to clone it as soon as I could before it failed. Mine has Vista. I used my Copy Commander 9 Program to make the clone of my old drive on a bigger WD one. Here is the link to get the downloaded version from the official site. www.avanquest.com Then I decided to back up my wife’s computer by cloning her hard drive to another too! (Hers is XP) Here is how I did it. Also, if your drives are bigger than the 137 GB barrier allows, then set up the drive in DOS first so your computer “sees” the entire 320GB or what ever size you choose. And absolutely DON’T FORGET to RUN the “SCANDISK” (tell it to fix errors automatically) on the ORIGINAL drive before copying it over or it will stop in the middle and you will have to start over, as Copy Commander 9 won’t let you copy errors….And that is good! It may look like it is “froze” when it begins working, but be patient. IT will work. Good luck.

Unboxing of the new 2009 WD My Book Essential 1TB First Video, so sorry about the crap quality. Oh and i didn’t rabbit on because i assume you would already know the specs. All in all its a great hard drive, security lock and automatic firmware/software updates as standard. Automatic back-up however was a pain in the ass because it just took stupid amount of time. If your using it as a standard extra hard drive space and not going to be regularly backing up your WHOLE computer, then its perfect. Great design and solid make.

    Unboxing Seagate Expansion 1.5TB External Hard Drive Review — This is an unboxing of the 1.5TB ( 1500gb ) version of the seagate expansion series external hard drive. It’s definitely a nice looking hard drive, it has a 7200 RPM hard drive inside and I must say I was impressed with the speed of this drive, after this unboxing video I went straight to testing it and I was able to copy over 18 gigs of music in about 12 minutes! So far, I love this drive.
