Is there any external hard drive which enables you to extend them by plugging one to another?

I was wondering if there is any external hard drive which I can use unlimited number of external hard drives by plugging one to another? Imagine an external hard drive which has 1 usb port for me to plug-in another one into and I can continue building up external hard drives by plugging one to another. Does it make sense?

Thanks.

Yes you can but it’s not "unlimited" have a look at the Lacie Bricks:

It might make sense if you tell us what you hope to achieve by having a chain of external hard drives connected together

Yes. You can do it with up to 150 drives, but you can only do it with Firewire 400 or 800.
