This device is crap!!! Do not waste your money on it. I have tried three drives from three different manufacturers and I keep getting the same malfunction message. The drives work fine when hooked up to a computer source but when using the cables…nothing! 100% CRAP!!!!!

I don’t suppose that you could connect an IDE and SATA Drive at the same time.

This video is crap, normaly I agree with tigerdirect on this type of stuff but I have to say that this cble is crap. I bought one for an old sata drive to use as a backup for vista and 1 it saw the drive in computer management but it wouldn’t start it, something about divice not being ready. And 2 after about 20 mins the drive started to smoke and the power brick got really hot, almost to hot to pick up. Don’t waste your money, just buy a drive enclosure and be sure it wil work.

I don’t know about the quality of this particular brand (Cables to Go) but I have (and use regularly) a Sabrent 5in1 USB2.0 Cable to SATA and IDE 1/8″/2.5″/3.5″ HDD and 5.25″ CD/DVD-RW Drive. I’m a technican in Elkhart, IN that deals with customer backups/transfers several times per week and it’s been priceless. ROI satisfied first time I used it.
